UNIQUE LIVE ONBOARD & DIVING EXPERIENCES NOW AVAILABLE IN MAURITIUS & MADAGASCAR

Our unique live onboard experience

Sea Spirit was born in 2017 out of a desire to promote the discovery and protection of the oceans through live onboard sailing and scuba diving charters.

Sailing and Scuba diving leave little footprint on nature and allows visitors to experience a different form of travelling whilst minimising their carbon footprint.

“Travelling by sea builds a strong bond between travellers and the environment. It also allows the local communities living of tourism to share a common interest for sustainability. “

We all naturally tend to protect what we learn to love. Spreading the knowledge of natures wonders will help promote its protection.

Our vision is based on modern and contemporary
live onboard catamarans
, owned and operated in Mauritius & Madagascar, to complement the local tourism industry in an exclusive and unique way.

“Sailing performance meets design, comfort and luxury on two hulls.”

THE FEELING OF TOTAL LIBERTY

Arriving at the destination, being transferred and welcomed on your catamaran, located at the local marina, promises a once in a lifetime experience. “SEA SPIRIT” is located at La balise Marina, located on the west coast of Mauritius. Traditionally Mauritius is known by holiday makers around the world for its legendary service offered in its lavish hotels and for its luxurious villas and apartments along the coastlines. “BALAO” is located at Le Cratère Marina, located in Nosy-Be on the south-west coast of the island. Nosy-Be is known as one of the best tourism location in Madagascar thanks to its beautiful and preserved beaches supplied by many excellent hotels covering the whole budget range you might dream of.

Boarding a catamaran to spend a holiday and sailing around the coastlines of Mauritius or Nosy-Be whilst enjoying the panoramas that unfold day after day is a type of holiday seafarers would much rather enjoy as opposed to staying ashore. Yet this is something that is not commonly offered. Divers can spend their days in their element whilst spouses and family do various land based tours and activities. You will be combining navigation time & diving between enchanting anchorage spots.

For Mauritius, you will be brought to the batelage ancient port in Souillac, la baie du jacotet near Bel Ombre, Baie du Cap “ Maconde”, the sand banks in the lagoon of ilot Benitiers, the bay of Petite Riviere Noire, Tamarin Bay, the cliffs near Albion lighthouse, the Caudan Marina, Turtle Bay in Balaclava, Mont Choisy beach, Grand Bay, Coin de Mire, the lagoon between Ilot Gabriel and Ile Plate, Trou D’eau Douce, Isle aux Cerfs and many anchorage spots in the vast Lagoon along the South East Coast where the famous naval battle of vieux Grand Port took place and finally Ile aux Aigrettes.

For Nosy-Be, you will discover the Mitsios archipelago, the most beautiful beach of Madagascar, Nosy Iranja (listed 7th most beautiful beach of the world), Nosy Komba also called the lemurs island where you will be able to interact directly with this unique species, Lokobe natural reservation, Nosy Tanikely a beautiful natural harbour where snorkelling is a must, the Radama archipelago where you will feel walking into an incredible preserved environment.

EXCEPTIONAL INNOVATION, THE « IN & OUT » CONCEPT, A DISPROPORTIONATE LIVING SPACE FOR A 40 FEET BOAT !

The NAUTITECH 40 Open is the ideal catamaran for travelling with family and friends. With the unique OPEN concept, the cockpit and the saloon of the NAUTITECH 40 Open flow into one shared living space, ideal for an unforgettable day at sea.

THE LOUNGE AS A CONCEPT

In the 40 Open, the design team and star designer Marc Lombard have succeeded in redefining the living space of a cruising catamaran. Whereas in the past the deck saloon and cockpit lounge have tended to be separate worlds, here they have been combined – resulting in a completely new feeling of space.

Based on the experience that daily life takes place in the cockpit, on a 40-foot vessel, either the cockpit lounge or saloon generally suffer from size limitations, but here, the two areas have simply been combined. This in turn has only been made possible with the help of a sophisticated tarpaulin system. As a result, dinners and parties will no longer be disturbed by wind or weather.

The ‘40 Open’ idea essentially consists in the fusion of the interior space with the cockpit lounge. In order to avoid creating two disappointingly small areas, the designers and Marc Lombard decided to create a large roofed cockpit lounge and leave the actual saloon as a generously sized pantry plus a combined navigation corner and seating area. In bad weather, or if you need privacy, the tarpaulin system makes it possible for the lounge to be partially or completely closed off.

The cockpit lounge is generous, the way to the foredeck is secured with rails, and the two steering stations provide a perfect overview and ideal visibility in all manoeuvres and changes of wind direction.

IN THE THICK OF THINGS: multifunction space

The U-shaped galley, both functional and very modern, is excellently equipped and designed for practicality. All lockers and utensils are within easy reach. The cosy navigation corner / seating area directly adjoining offers a perfect overview of the entire ship, and is a welcome retreat at odd moments when you want a coffee or a snack.

SAILING AT RELAXED SPEED

The slim but stable hull design offers optimum sailing performance and speed. The 40 Open rapidly gets underway and is easy to handle. The design team have succeeded in giving this smooth and long-haul sailing ship the best possible conditions, whatever the weather is like. This is down to the perfectly coordinated rig, with barely 91 square metres of sail turned to the wind.

The demanding connoisseur gets a further kick from the 70 square metre gennaker and the 95 square metre spinnaker. Once you’ve experienced these extra features, you won’t want to do without them ever again.

THE RESTFUL ART OF FAST AND COMFORTABLE SAILING

Speed and comfort are the essential attributes that apply to catamaran sailing. The high sailing performance that results from weight and displacement is supplemented by a considerable gain in living space for the crew, as well as significantly improved stability, smoothness and ease of handling. Travel time is reduced as distance is increased, and you can enjoy your stay on board in the most relaxed and comfortable way.

A concentrated wealth of experience and skill has gone into creating the 40 Open – but the ideal of elegance and an aesthetic line has never been lost from sight. The hull windows for example are an elegant addition, both supplementing the design and making life below deck more enjoyable.

SIMPLE PERFECTION

The 40 Open is compact but has been kept simple. The uncompromising line of the x-bow stem reflects the agility and speed potential of the vessel.

IN DETAIL

Even in its basic basic configuration, the 40 Open is fitted out as a finished yacht. That means you can just get on board and cast off. But of course it would not be a BAVARIA if it were not for those little design details, which make it possible for every individual wish to come true.

You will be surprised by all this catamaran has to offer to discerning travellers…

RELAXATION

With the four cabins configuration, the 40 Open welcomes their guests below deck with a harmoniously designed living space and all the comfort you could wish for.

The 40 Open receives her guests below deck in a harmoniously designed living space and with friendly comfort. Welcome to the saloon and below deck of the 40 Open. The galley in the saloon is extensively equipped and designed to be practical. All storage compartments and appliances are within easy reach. And since it is much more fun to cook with company, the cosy navigation and seating area is right next to the galley. This is the perfect spot for a coffee or a light lunch and has an excellent view of the entire boat. The hulls house the spacious cabins, fitted with ample cupboards for stowing away clothing and equipment.

The cabins offer superior natural lighting, luxurious fit and finish (LEDs, inner planking) and the presence truly useful storages.

In view of the higher standards of comfort and safety and the improved quality of life, catamarans are the ideal type of yacht for people who value a relaxed life at sea.

This is the most recent and luxurious catamaran currently operating in Mauritius and it is usually used by our VIP clients for either day charters or liveaboard charters around Mauritus. Sea Spirit II our Nautitech 46 Fly  catamaran was built in 2019 in Rochefort in France and arrived in Mauritus in April 2020. This  vessel is also now available for expedition charters to Saint Brandon. The boat is like a top class hotel, offering all the possible facilities and features on would dream of having in a luxury yacht.

LUXURIOUS ACCOMMODATION BELOW

When you first enter any of the cabins, you will notice the harmony alliance of space and light. The light walnut interior woodwork around the catamaran gives it a feeling of comfort and coziness.

The 4 luxury cabins below deck  are very spacious and comfortable with ensuite heads,  under-bed drawer and several lockers and shelves for storage, air conditioning and fans and  huge tinted perspex hull windows that allow lots of  light into the cabins. The centrepiece of the design is the flybridge, a feature that’s becoming ever more popular on cruising catamarans. The flybridge is incorporated into the prominent coachroof, the forward part of which has an eyebrow over the generous saloon windows while the aft section provides seating topside and a hardtop bimini over the wide-open cockpit, offering ample shade and covering. It gives the catamaran a streamlined appearance.

The flybridge is accessed through a five-step staircase. The wheel is offset slightly to port. The helmsman’s seat has a movable backrest that can be flipped one way or the other when underway or at anchor. There’s another raised backrest on a U-shaped settee bordering the flybridge that can be lifted like a chaise lounge. All in all, there must be comfortable seating for upward of 20 people.

Most lines are led to the helm station, with 3 Lewmar electrical winches and accompanying Spinlock clutches. Unusually, the genoa sheets are not led to the wheel but to a set of primary winches on either side of the cockpit, which would make singlehanding difficult.

In the saloon itself, to starboard, there’s a standing navigation table.  The U-shaped galley looks out to the cockpit  and is also to starbaord, with plenty of counter space and a pair of sinks. A well-executed L-shaped settee and dining area convertible to a lounge bed are to port side. Plenty of natural light pours in through the wraparound coachroof windows.

The bow of the catamaran has a front deck lounge, with a bar storage area and cushion inserts for yet another place to chill and relax. The forward trampolines are ideal to lay on and soak in the tropical sun or simply for stargazing at night.

The vessel has a sail plan of 108 m2 with a 69 m2 mainsail and a 39 m2 jib on its own furler.

In order to bring into life almost all fantasies about exotic gastronomy, the catamaran is equipped with top notch equipment such as: 4 burner gas cooker, double-side sink, 3 refrigerators, 2 freezers, and oven, a microwave oven, and other kitchen Household appliances. You will get to enjoy the delicious food while sitting by a perfect dinning table, placing 8 people together in maximum comfort.

The boat also has a 7 kw Onan generator, a 100 liter/hour water maker, a 2 kw inverter, 3 * 150W solar panel,  a microwave, 2 freezer and 3 fridges, air conditioning in all 4 cabins, fans and electric winches + 3.2m dinghy with a 20 HP.
